Good Deed....

Yes I have an Apple, I love it and am proud to be an Apple user:) The photos in the previous post were done on their program called photobooth, so fun!
So today I got a different lady who was nice and didn't make me feel like I messing up her schedule to take me (and my dog) to the vets, I thought about calling just to double make sure they were there etc... just because it would be my luck that something was going on and they weren't there....I didn't call, and by the way Chugs did fine in the car, she didn't poop on the seat....we get there and I tell the lady that Chugs needs a shot and she asks if I have an appointment, no it's the shot clinic isn't it? no it's on thurs. not tues.!!!!!!! I knew I should have called!!!! But they were nice and did it anyways.
Thank You to nice people who don't make other people feel bad when they ask for help.

Visiting Teachers...

I know I haven't always been the best visiting teacher (but I love this program and I have tried my best) and I will even admit that last year I didn't go once! Yes I could blame it on my health and the fact that my partner had a brain tumor and then complications and can't walk and I couldn't help her with my health etc. etc... but I hate excuses! So maybe I deserve this.
I have never had good visiting teachers, I read about them, I guess they are out there some where, I wish I had some! I have had the same visiting teachers since I moved in two years ago up until two months ago, they just never helped or called or came by and I (and my husband) knew that I needed more help and therefore new VT. I told the RS pres. that I needed some that would be able to help me clean and take me on errands since I can't do this anymore. First it took 4 months, then I get new ones and once I found out who they were I wasn't excited, you know how you just know! One of them is my neighbor (my NEIGHBOR)that's right, and it is this one that I am writing about.
So the first time they come over I plan on telling them after they do the customary 'is there anything we can do for you?' ending I was all prepared to tell them I do need some help, well they didn't do it!!!!!! they didn't ask at all if I needed help! Then I muster up the courage to call the VT that is my neighbor and ask her if she can come and help me clean (first it is really hard to ask someone for help like that! to admit that you can't clean your own house anymore!) well she told me that she might be coming down with something and didn't want to get me sick so she would see how she felt the next day and give me a call.....no call.....ever. And she didn't even offer a solution or a let me call my partner and see if she can do it, I wasn't going to call her that call already totally took it out of me! I was sobbing when I hung up! I don't know if I called my sister that day or the next but I started crying when I told her too!
I believe in giving second chances... so I called my VT again (the neighbor, remember?) she loves my dog Chugs, Chugs and her dog would play around etc.... well I need a ride to the vet to get Chugs her annual shot, not a better person to ask then her right? First I feel like I am pulling teeth, she is hmmming and aahhhing the shot clinic is tuesday afternoon and saturday morning, well she has things to do....blah, blah, but if we did it right at 2pm she could possibly make it back in time.... wow thanks for making me feel like I am twisting your arm! but she actually said YES! then she calls the day before, 'lots of snow, hopefully it won't be like this tomorrow!' (great she wants to cancel) 'do you have a pet carrier?' (I thought for her dog), 'no' 'oh I was wondering what we were going to do with Chugs?' 'oh, she just sits on my lap, she loves car rides' (and she really does, she has never once in her life been in a pet carrier, you mention car ride and she is jumping up and down!) 'I just don't want her to get nervous and poop on my seat' 'she won't poop on your seat, she loves car rides, even in different cars' (besides she loves this neighbor so it really isn't a strange situation) 'okay then, bye' Well she didn't back out...she calls again 'I can't do it tomorrow I am taking a friend to lunch and I don't think I'll be back in time' blah blah excuse as to why she has to take the friend tomorrow. I was fed up, it's alright, fine!!!!!
Now the week before I did need to run errands bad, I called a counsler in the RS presidency that told me I could call her if I needed too and she is really nice, so I did, and it was great and she was so nice, helped me with my oxygen and groceries. So today I asked her if she would give me a ride to the vet, she needs to check her schedule.
Oh yeah, so as my VT cancelled she asked if they could come by and visit!!!! I'm too nice I said sure, but I couldn't let that ____ into my house. So I took a nap during that time on purpose!!!!! Yep, I missed them, the other one told me today that they came by! Oh sorry, I was napping! I really want to believe that they are called by inspiration and therefore I gave her two chances, but the bishop asked about stuff and my husband told him (he was really mad btw, he wanted to put a sign on the door that said to go away and never come back, I wouldn't let him) hopefully I'll get new VT.
I just don't get why people aren't offering help anymore! at the beginning it seemed like people were asking all the time, now when I will actually say yes nobody is! Our HT and his family are coming over every other week to clean (mop floors, vacuum, bathroom) so that is finally working out. And I have had thank you cards for over a month sitting here because I can't go get stamps!!!!!!! (finally did). I just need to set up a time probably every other week to run errands, like library, pick-up meds, etc...
The ward overall is good to us, the bishop is wonderful and the ward is bringing us dinners four days a week (well when they don't forget, which at least one person if not two do each week). Want to hear a crazy statistic in our ward? we have had four brain tumors in the past two years!!!!! don't move here! and one of those is my friend two houses up who moved in the same time I did, is my age, had her second baby (first girl) just three months before they found hers, and she developed a rare complication where the brain doesn't return to normal, she has had her sight, speech, and movement affected, her memory is great and when she speaks it is so much better, she still needs assistance to walk but does pretty well. The dr.'s thought she would return to normal but since it's been so long (1 1/2 yrs. now) they say it's permanent (although there is always hope). So she has been the one that through all my health issues I am inspired by because she has needed and still needs help, she can't even take care of her kids, hasn't been able to take care of her little girl since she was 3 months old and now the girl is such a daddy's girl....but she continues to endure and is an inspiration to me to keep going. And oh how I wish I could help her, I can't even walk up to her house (it is inclined from mine) and visit with her (and of course she can't walk down to mine without assistance). We just laugh, what a pair we make:)
President Hinckley.....

President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away today, he was a wonderful prophet and example to me of what manner of men we should be. I am happy to know that he is reunited with his beloved wife. I loved his optimism and every single talk he gave inspired and uplifted me, one of the many many quotes I love is: 'stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight'.

Wanted: Friend

I want a friend, a real friend, one who cares about me, visits me, calls me, writes me cards, notices if I don't go to church, takes me or brings me lunch, helps me with my sewing/crafts because I'm not good. Wants to watch girly movies with me, take me on errands, does my hair. Is this too much to ask? Think I should take out an ad? Is there anyone out there like this? It just seems like so many people have good friends and I have none! (yes my sister is wonderful but she lives out of state). I use to have friends, where did they go? Why is it I don't have friends when I really need them?
Sorry today is just a really friendless feeling day....

Actually what I'm thinking I need is a buddy! My brother had a 'My Buddy' doll, remember them? the song went 'my buddy, my buddy, my buddy and me!' you could/would take him everywhere you went. I need a buddy.
Don't get me wrong, I love my blog friends, you are the only friends I have right now! But I need some (even 'a') friends here physically. Do I put the ad in the wanted section or the personals????

A New Me!

So what have I been doing that I haven't been posting????? I have been working on a new me. Trying to be a little better. I am trying to not watch so much tv (evenings are the hardest) and fill the time with good books and listening to good talks given, I have downloaded a ton of BYU Devotional and Women's conference talks, I was even able to download a talk given in 1949 by Pres. George Albert Smith! And one in the same year by Pres. Joseph Fielding Smith, how cool is that! It was so cool to hear their voice, it was a little crackly and you could tell it wasn't very good technology but I just thought it was cool.

I have started a cross-stitch that my husband got me for christmas two years ago! it is my favorite painting by Greg Olsen, to be honest I am intimated by it! it's huge! I have never done one that big! I like these little projects that I do (like the bookmarkers) because I finish them fast! But I think I will feel better about me and my time (not as lazy, refer to a few posts back) if I have something to show for it, besides it is better to cross-stitch while I listen to the talks then to play Sudoku!!!

I also am reading Be of Good Cheer by Marvin J. Ashton, what a great book!!!! I need to do a post on it. I also started a book called Please Pass the Scriptures by John Hilton III, it is also a great book, about getting more out of scripture study which I need to work on.

So just trying to be a little better, which should include blogging! I did take pictures on friday my brother and his friend came to visit me and they made me dinner! I will post tomorrow. And a story about Texas... I hope ya'll can view the movie(that's in the previous post, the dogs playing tug o' war).

LA Meeting....
Welcome to Lazy Anonymous we have a new member here tonight, please come up and introduce yourself and tell us what got you here....
Hi, my name is RoRo {Hi RoRo} I wasn't always like this, isn't that what they all say? HaHa...my husband use to call me 'GoGo Girl' because I was always doing things, running errands, cleaning, cooking, trying to sew or scrapbook, even when I watched tv I always had something in my hands. It all started when I got really really sick, I couldn't do anything for quite awhile and even though I've gotten a litte better I still can't do alot of things like vacuuming, which I love to do, mopping, making dinner, take my dogs for a walk... they totally kill me! But I can do somethings, like laundry, or dishes since it's something I can do and then go sit down and catch my breath. But I still don't do the things I can! I am lazy! I think my husband is an enabler because he will come home and even if I did nothing the whole day he doesn't make me feel bad about it! Not that I want a husband that makes me feel bad about it, but maybe just a 'I know you can do better, get off the sofa and do something'!!!!! It's funny because now when he comes home at the end of the day I tell him everything I did, and it's mostly stupid little stuff because to me I want to show him that I wasn't lazy the whole day (look, I put a new toilet paper roll on! what a day I had!)
....So I hope that by coming to these meetings I will stop being so lazy and blaming my health for my laziness.
Welcome RoRo we are here to help you, {insert your name here}, what advice can you give RoRo?
Update:
I just folded a basket of laundry and decided that it's okay to be lazy...wow I can get out of breathe fast, maybe I need to find a breathers anonymous....

HOPE

I read this talk by Elder Neal A. Maxwell (I really love his talks) and I want to 'plow in HOPE'....
Those, however, who “plow in hope” not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the “eye of faith” they still see divine design (Alma 5:15).
Today has not been a good day, as I went to bed last night I was having a hard time breathing and it resulted in a really really bad night, so today I have been tired and still not able to breathe as great has I have been enjoying. I did talk to my sister and I got a card from Donna so my day was lifted! Thanks Donna you made the trek to the mailbox worth it!

My To Do List...
I guess I can fill out what I have accomplished (or didn't) today since I usually don't do much at night. Do you ever feel kinda stuck because you have errands to run and you didn't do them (or in my case can't) then I don't feel as productive, sure I still have lots on my to do list I could do here but I want to run my errands! So since I can't get over them I'll list them!
I really want to go to the library to get the book for bookclub!
Post office for stamps (to mail thank-you cards I'm still writing)
Bank
Wal-mart (need to pick-up some prescriptions)
Walgreens (need to pick-up a prescription)
So simple, I almost got to the other day my husband was home for an hour and I thought I could run some of these really fast, well my easy portable oxygen tank didn't want to work! so then I would have had to use a bigger one which is really too hard when I have to get in and out of the drivers side so I had to not go! (my husband did offer to take me but he really needed to study, my errands weren't that important).
So what did I do today?
Went outside to get the mail (remember my up and down the stairs once a day!) and there is almost a foot of snow so I totally got my slippers and bottom of my jammies all wet.
Finished a couple thank-you cards
I am proud that I went through my bookshelf and actually took pictures and blogged about them all in one day!
Played a lot of Sudoku and watched a little more mindless tv then I wanted too, but I was more lazy today.
I did put dinner in the crock-pot and unloaded the dishes
I also took a nap, well sort of, it was one of those day where I was still tired after breakfast and so I decided to go back to bed, I never fell asleep but I got really relaxed snuggling my dogs and listening to hymns, at least I felt better when I woke up.
Do you think I am taking my new goal of more blogging to an extreme? I mean 3 posts in one day? or is it four? I have to stop!!!!!!!

My health books....
As Marie pointed out I have a lot of health books, I was really into Herbs, Juicing, etc.. still am a little. I believe that there are things like herbs that are made for the body and can help our bodies, that doesn't mean I believe we can cure stuff, just help our bodies maintain the amazing 'machines' that they are. I also believe the mind is a big part of health. Now it may seem funny to some that I am so into natural healing or whatever with the health that I have, like I said it can't cure stuff, I have Cystic Fibrosis and it is genetic, nothing will cure that (although gene therapy has come a long way) and the stuff that I'm dealing with now Hemoptysis (coughing up blood) well I have tried to help my body with herbs etc... but it just hasn't been able to stop my bronchial arteries from bleeding which has caused me to have lots of surgeries (13 to date in 5 years plus I had a upper lobectomy last feb.) which has resulted in me losing a lot of lung function (which is hard to get back) I also have an extra 'bug' which makes me resistant to most antibiotics.
I don't know if that made sense or what but I just want to say I believe we can all help and strengthen our bodies by taking in what is good and doing things that are good. My two favorite books are 10 essential foods which talk about the 10 best foods we should be eating and why and what they do for us and then 10 natural remedies that will save your life, it just says stuff that we know we should be doing like drinking water, getting sunshine, but it tells us why it's so important and how it helps our bodies. The lady that wrote 10 essential foods also has 10 essential herbs and that is a very good book too. Also the second book him and his wife wrote a book Perscription for natural healing which is really good, goes through every single supplement out there and also all different ailments/conditions (yes they even have CF) and tell what helps and why, very good, I do have that book and am keeping it.
FREE BOOKS!!!!!
That's right, just cleaning out my bookshelf, I was just going to donate these but I know how much my blog friends like to read so I thought I would see if you want any first, if you want them please come and get them, if you really want them and I need to mail them to you, a couple is fine but if it will be alot if you will pay for shipping I don't mind sending them to you.
