The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launched a new multimedia Web site this week about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The site, JesusChrist.lds.org, was almost a year in the making.
Responding to a perceived need to bring all current and future online Latter-day Saint resources about Christ into one Web location, the site is aimed both at members of the faith and all others with an interest in Jesus Christ.
ccording to project manager Brian Hansbrow, the site is designed to give people a deeper understanding of who Jesus Christ is.
The site features articles, video clips, artwork, an interactive music page and other sections all focused on the life and ministry of Christ.

Word of the Month....

My word this month is Choice and I just want to dedicate a post to it this month since I haven't so far. It's a pretty strong word, means a lot in our lives because everything is our choice! We choose everything. The biggest thing it means for me right now is that I choose what I do during the day, I choose what to watch on tv, I choose to be on the computer, to blog or not, to read blogs or conference talks. Sometimes it feels like I don't have a choice, I don't feel good and can't read or do anything else and therefore watch tv, but I still have a choice!
I think that every single day you have to fight Satan and make choices between good, better, and best, I think that if we aren't aware of this then we are agreeing with Satan because it's hard! Every single day you need to be aware of what you are choosing and if it is the BEST choice.
I am not saying this because I am good, I am really really bad at this, it's so so easy to be lazy and let the day fly by, that is Satan! he wants life to appear easy and fun, it's not! it's HARD!!!!
Hopefully this made a little sense, I don't know if it did, I am just more aware of my everyday decisions and that I am not making the BEST ones I could be. I love this talk by Elder Dallin H. Oaks from Oct. Conference '07 called Good, Better, Best...

Tuesday Tell All...

I've Never..... Been able to run.
In my healthy days I would be able to walk/run but never run continously for more than a few mins.(and only be able to walk/run for 30mins.) I would get books from the library about how to become a runner and one had a great schedule to start out from walking to running and I tried it but I just couldn't get to running for more than a few mins.! My lungs just can't do it! I do have dreams of me running, I am running everywhere, I have to go to the store and I don't drive, I run there! it feels so good, so easy. Just one more thing I look forward to enjoying in heaven! You will know when you meet me in Heaven because I will come running up to you to say Hi!

My Goals....
So I've been wanting to write this post for a long time I just have been having a problem putting it all together so I hope that by just starting to type it will all work out.
I've never had a problem with setting and achieving goals before, I never really did anything big for the 'New Year's' goals, just the normal stuff, but this year has been different. I set some goals and really they have been goals that I have been setting over and over. Maybe they shouldn't even be called goals, just things, habits really that I want to incorporate into my life. I would write down what I want to do and the list would be pretty long, but really easy, but then I wouldn't do them and then I would feel bad. I would start over, list them again, maybe I should only start with a few I say, but when I look at them they are all good and easy things to do, so why can't I do them????? And I have wanted to do blog things like TTA and the 52 blessings stuff, but I haven't been a good blogger!
I also think that for certain things I go all or nothing, like the word of the month I think I went overboard on that (on the blog at least). But I do like the idea of blogging about stuff, like the book I just read, I wanted to blog about it so bad, there was a lot of great quotes. But then it would have been a lot of long posts and going overboard again.
So I have decided that I would 'check-in' with different 'goals/habits/projects' that I'm doing so that will encourage me on! Here are the things I will post on:
~Cross-stitch, I will take a picture each week to document the progress, I will explain with my first post.
~Book, whatever book I am reading I will do some quotes from.
~Hymn/Scripture, I really want to memorize one each a week.
~Dinner, I need to plan and make one dinner a week ( I know it sounds silly to the rest of you).
~52 blessings, a blessing a week post
~TTA, I will attempt again (although I swear I don't get the emails sometimes)
~Flashback Fridays, my made up one where I share a picture from my past
I will do something everyday (some are obvious which days they are on). Am I already setting myself up again? This means I need to blog everyday, maybe I shouldn't have something everyday. See when I am feeling okay like I do know it seems more doable, but if I have a bad day (or days) I will get behind.
Am I setting myself up to fail again?

A little book help needed....

I love books, I use to read a ton, belonged to a bookclub etc.... but since I got really sick I haven't been able to read much, you would think it would be perfect with all this time on my hands etc... but I get so tired when I read so it's been a challenge, some times are better than others, sometimes I can read for 30mins or so others I can barely read for 10! So I am going to try and listen to some books, I have an iPod and I know you can download Audiobooks or off iTunes but we don't have any money, good thing is the library has a ton you can download for free, bad news is it doesn't support iPods!!!!! but I was able to download a book on CD and then from iTunes put it on my iPod so I am going to try and get some books on CD and do that.

So the help I need is.....I need some good books to read!!!! and I mean really really good it has to be able to keep my attention so I will want to listen to it and not watch TV!!!!! What are your favorite books? (and hopefully they will be on CD at the library!)
So Grateful for....
My internet! I was without it for two days!!!!!! Which also means I was without a home phone! What did I do before internet days? Oh yeah, I was young enough to play and read and not have a care in the world! At least I still had my cable! You never realize how much you use the internet (or your phone) until it is taken away!
I actually made dinner last night and wanted to look up a recipe real quick, but NO internet!!!! I actually had to look in a cookbook!!! And I couldn't make the phone calls I wanted to because lets face it I live in a basement and the cell phone service isn't the greatest down here!
So glad to have you back internet and glad I have a lot of blogs to catch up on this saturday morning because I will never never never understand why there is nothing good on tv on a saturday!!!!!!!

Lost: Puggle...

Well almost....yesterday somebody left the gate open and Texas got out, she has done this before and I was able to take a bag of treats yell her name shake the bag and she came running, zoomed across the street without looking!!!!!! Today was similar, I live the basement so I can't tell if the gate is open or not and so I kept calling her (I only let her outside for about 3mins. and she didn't come so I went outside (which I didn't have my portable oxygen because it was empty) I called and I didn't have a bag of treats so I took a bag of tortilla chips!!! I couldn't see her anywhere, went to the front and looked up and down the street, no dog, great I can't believe this! I know she would want to come home but if she went to far (that beagle nose will take her everywhere!) I'm just afraid that she won't find her way back (think Homeward Bound, it will be okay, it will be okay) I don't know what to do because I don't have a car, I can't walk up and down the street, and my neighbor just had a baby so I can't call on her! I was about to go back down stairs when I see a brown dog emerge from behind one of the houses across the street, I yell, shake the tortilla bag and she comes running at full speed (again not looking before crossing the street, thankful again that no car was coming).
I was so mad all day yesterday because of the gate, there are a couple single guys who live upstairs and I'm not blaming one of them but it wasn't me and I didn't have any visitors that morning, I know my husband shut the gate when he left. I just can't understand why the upstairs people won't keep the gate shut (this is not the first time) they know we have dogs! And hopefully they know how bad my health is and that I can't go get my dogs if they run away! and I sure can't go check the gate every single time I let them out! I can barely make it up those stairs once! After putting these signs out I was so out of breath it was crazy! I just think it was so disrespectful, inconsiderate etc...sure it could have been a friend and not them but then why don't they make sure they close the gate? if I lived upstairs I would be able to look out the kitchen window and see if the gate was closed before I let them out, but I don't live upstairs and that is a big long story so don't ask!
I just can't live without my dogs! Look at this cute girl, could you live without her?
So I'll tell the story now...I wasn't always a dog person, Chugs was actually a family dog to begin with, we moved into my in-laws basement and my husbands brother moved in with his parents upstairs with his dog, she was only 4 months old and so tiny and cute, she had to wear a cat collar and a bell because she was so small, my husband loved her to death and played with her all the time, I liked her because she was small and cute but I didn't like dogs on my lap etc.. (how far I have come!) I was absolutely against dogs sleeping in people beds especially mine and I don't like dogs licking me (still don't allow it).
Well the next summer my husbands parents moved (yipee!) and his brother went and sold security systems for the summer so we took over care of Chugs, I grew more attached to her and we would take her for walks everyday and when I needed to rest or I had a coughing fit Chugs would wait right by me, if I sat down on the curb Chugs came and put her front paws on me until I was done, if you ever just start to cry she senses it and even comes from the other room to be with you she is a very sensitive dog. Then I got really sick in Aug. and my husband thought that his brother would take Chugs back once he came home from his summer job and his parents missed having a dog around so he talked them into getting two puggles! the day we picked them up they were so little! (although they were just barely smaller than full-grown Chugs!) they were both in the pet carrier and when we opened it one shot out and one was shy, I wanted the shy one, it also made noises when it was breathing so I liked that too (because I make noises as well and have problems breathing!) it wasn't until later that I noticed her tail was curly and her sisters wasn't and I totally love that!
Oh, skipped a little part, so since Chugs was a family dog she was use to sleeping in beds with the people and I didn't like that and tried hard to break her of that but it was no use she started sleeping in our bed, it was okay because she didn't take up much room and she slept on my husbands side, but after we got Texas I said no way was she going to end up in the bed too, she slept in a pen out in the living room and all was going well, I had surgery in Feb. 07 and after that it was my husbands job to put her to bed because it was too much for me, he started getting lazy and she got use to spending time with us in bed until it was bedtime and then he would put her away, some nights she cried and I said to ignore it and she will stop but he couldn't take it and would go get her! well then he got even more lazy (or more soft hearted) and let her stay and what do you know, they both now sleep with us!!!!! right now it is sometimes nice because Texas is a really warm body and warms you up, she even lets me put my feet under her! but then in the summer she makes the bed really warm.
So I have warmed up to dogs, but mostly my own, I still don't like other people's dogs all over me and therefore I try to keep my dogs off other people when they come. Well, time to go get those two cute girls and take a nap! (they are so sweet, they go under the covers and they both have to be touching me!).

People Watcher...
I love to people watch, at the mall, church, in line at the store or resturant. I like to see what they wear (in style or out, fits good or not, etc..) see the kids they have (cute or not) and how the kids act, how they discipline etc... Most of all since I'm a cosmetologist I love to look at their hair, see if it's stylish or plain, styled or not done, colored or not, etc....I don't judge I like to image what the story of their life is, the only thing I do change is their hair! I like to come up with new styles and color for people that have kinda plain hair.
I know this is kinda a weird post but I went out to lunch with my husband yesterday (yippee no school!) and while waiting in line and people watching I was totally writing this post in my head!!!! So I guess I love to people watch and write posts in my head! (I know it doesn't seem like it because I don't post a lot but I do think about posts a lot and then after a day or so passes I think it's stupid and don't post it anymore).
Just something new about me!
Let's think of other weird facts about RoRo:
~I don't make my husband put the toilet seat down, it doesn't bother me
~I don't close the door when I go to the bathroom (why bother when it's just me in the house? or just me and my husband?)
~I love to make instant choc. pudding and drink it before it gets stiff
~I love Phillsbury Angel Food Cake and after I mix it and poor it into the pan I save quite a bit in the bowl and eat it.
~I rarely floss
~I hate putting on make-up (hey I'm a cosmetologist not a make-up artist!) I would rather my hair look good than make-up on.
~I hate being told how skinny I am and how jealous they are...you go through what I have been through and you would be this skinny too! And I don't want to be this skinny I try to gain weight and I know you would love to give me some!
~I wasn't always a big dog person (I'll do a post on it) not until we had Chugs for quite sometime did she finally grow on me, and then we got Texas and she grew on me faster.
~I have never driven a car that was less than 5yrs old (and that was because I married into it, before I got married the nicest car I had ever driven/owned was at least 8-10yrs. old).
Wow what a long post with no pictures!!!!!!! A new post with pictures tomorrow!!!!!

Another Dog Video....
I finally got a video of Texas (and some Chugs) jumping through the hoop....
These kids came over with their father today (he's our Home Teacher) to come and clean the house a little, the bathroom and vacuum and mop, finally someone will help me out a little! And I am so so grateful but I can't help but notice that he cleans like a man, that's it isn't it? I'm not a perfectionist or ocd right? he just cleans like a man, I mean I love it because hey it would still be dirty if he did nothing, but afterwards I still see that I could have done a better job, I'm not weird am I? If I could ever get a woman to help me out I guess I would be able to make a more fairer judgement. Until then I'm very grateful someone will help me out every couple weeks.

Happy Valentines Day...
Since my husband is at school all day long I wanted to do something cute for him but something better than just sticking notes in his books/jacket, once again my amazing 'love swap' box from Holly (refer to last post) came through with the perfect thing. I had seen these on other blogs and wanted to make them (I even bookmarked the page!) because I thought it a great idea, well Holly included some in her package with some great scripture on the 'fortunes' I am not crafty at all so I'm so glad Holly sent them to me and it came yesterday what better timing? I made my own little 'fortunes' telling him why I love him and then stuck them in his backpack.
I have also loved on other blogs how they have been writing love letters to all their family and friends and wanted to do that, I just want to say how I love my blogging friends, what a great community it is, so many ideas and uplifting too, and thanks to all those who comment on mine and have become my friends, you mean a lot to me. Happy Valentines Day!

I got this image from Chrissy's blog and if you don't read her blog you should, today's post is excellent with quotes from Pres. Hinckley.

a lot of 'ketchup'

Okay totally lame....HaHaHa, not even funny Ro!!!!! I do have a lot of blog catching up to do though, I finally took more pictures and will post everything I been meaning to post. And although I feel like some of these deserve their own post I am sorry but just putting everything here....
My sister sent me a wonderful box of gifts, 3DVD's, chocolates, lotion, a clipboard that I should have taken a picture of, she mod podged it with pictures of my niece and nephew and dogs!!! then made lists like 'calls to make' 'to do' 'shopping' etc.. so so thoughtful and just what I needed! Also she included these William Sonoma Marshmellows, she knows I have cocoa every morning and like marshmellows. They were different I must say, they were cool because they were square and I can't really describe their taste, just different than a regular marshmellow! Thanks Sis!!!!
My MIL made this hat and scarf for me for christmas.....lets just say the hat makes a great shower cap!
Have to include a dog somewhere right? This is how Texas looks everytime she goes out, she loves to dive right into the snow and eat it! She always has snow on her when she comes back in.
This is one that deserves it's own post, I got some unexpected 'good mail' and it came at the best time, I had three really really bad days and this came totally lifted my spirits, I have been doing good ever since! Hannah made me a 'needlebook' and I love it soooooo much! I haven't posted on it yet because I wanted to put my needles in it, then I said oh well let's do it, I went get my embroidery needles at least and of course there is only one! so at least one of my needles has a home right now, and hopefully this will help me not lose so many needles! Thanks so much Hannah you are so thoughtful and nice.
I am such a great wife! The sunday I posted about all the snow my husband of course was out shoveling a lot and his shirt got all wet, well he tie bled! I honestly thought the shirt was a goner but I love the laundry stuff I had and wanted to see if it could get this out (I don't know why I even had a little doubt I mean it gets grease, lipstick, baby stuff, anything out!) I sprayed and rubbed and rubbed and rubbed (think of the song 'pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked) it was disappearing! but boy it took a lot of rubbing! I had to take several breaks, what a workout! But hey, the shirt is saved!
I participated in a 'Love Swap' for valentine's day, I got mine today so fun! of course it was filled with lots of goodies but the most exciting for me where the cards! I see them all the time on blogs but have never had my own, now I have cards with an 'r' on them and the envelopes are so awesome!!!! Thanks Holly!
Let's talk about Texas again, if she needs some attention and you don't give it to her this is what she does...takes the cushions off the sofa...isn't that what kids do? This day was actually the second time she did it, thought I better get pictures this time. (UPDATE: I just looked in the living room and the cushions are off the sofa, looks like I need to stop blogging)...
I can't remember if I posted these but I made some 'gift tags' for our VT ladies, I embroidered one side with the to/from and names and then sewed it onto some christmas fabric...
This was also back in December I made some little booties for my friends baby for her blessing dress, it had a little pink in it so I put the pink ribbon...

Bad Blogger....

I've been a bad bad blogger, I slapped my wrist and sat in the corner for awhile. I don't know why I do so well and then not. I do have pictures to post I just plain get lazy! I just like to read (and comment hopefully) other blogs and not post on mine! As a tiny excuse my internet has been slower all week, how did I ever survive dial-up? I get frustrated and leave!
I promise to do a catch-up blog. Also weird is I have just started getting weird comments, just on my last post I had about three weird comments left, what is going on? So I hope you don't mind I put the word verification to hopefully help with that right now.

Heavenly Chicken.....
Okay I made this and took great pictures a couple weeks ago, well I forgot to take one when it was all done I just started eating it then put it away etc... so I made it again, took the final pics and here they are with the recipe....
Heavenly Chicken: seriously I eat this for lunch everyday five days a week.
1/2 cup Olive Oil (original recipe called for 1cup butter but I've never made it with butter and olive oil is better for you and it cuts the amount in half and I bet makes it taste better!)
1 Pkg. Italian Seasoning Dressing Mix
3-4 Chicken Breasts (depending on the size, I only use three big ones from Costco's frozen bag, I also cut them up so they cook a little faster etc...

I use a slow cooker bag (no clean-up afterwards) and put all three ingredients in there, I then marinated them overnight (also a great way to get a jump start the next day) cook on low for 4 hours or high for 6 (or until chicken is done and tender).

(after they have been cooking)

You then heat up 6oz. cream cheese in the microwave just until soft enough to mix, then mix in 1 can of cream of chicken soup, then pour in crock-pot and mix together, cook an additional 30mins.

During those 30mins. I throw together some rice.

All finished, just shred the chicken a little, doesn't it look yummy???? I'm addicted.
