Happy Valentines Day...

Since my husband is at school all day long I wanted to do something cute for him but something better than just sticking notes in his books/jacket, once again my amazing 'love swap' box from Holly (refer to last post) came through with the perfect thing. I had seen these on other blogs and wanted to make them (I even bookmarked the page!) because I thought it a great idea, well Holly included some in her package with some great scripture on the 'fortunes' I am not crafty at all so I'm so glad Holly sent them to me and it came yesterday what better timing? I made my own little 'fortunes' telling him why I love him and then stuck them in his backpack.

I have also loved on other blogs how they have been writing love letters to all their family and friends and wanted to do that, I just want to say how I love my blogging friends, what a great community it is, so many ideas and uplifting too, and thanks to all those who comment on mine and have become my friends, you mean a lot to me. Happy Valentines Day!

I got this image from Chrissy's blog and if you don't read her blog you should, today's post is excellent with quotes from Pres. Hinckley.

a lot of 'ketchup'

Okay totally lame....HaHaHa, not even funny Ro!!!!! I do have a lot of blog catching up to do though, I finally took more pictures and will post everything I been meaning to post. And although I feel like some of these deserve their own post I am sorry but just putting everything here....

My sister sent me a wonderful box of gifts, 3DVD's, chocolates, lotion, a clipboard that I should have taken a picture of, she mod podged it with pictures of my niece and nephew and dogs!!! then made lists like 'calls to make' 'to do' 'shopping' etc.. so so thoughtful and just what I needed! Also she included these William Sonoma Marshmellows, she knows I have cocoa every morning and like marshmellows. They were different I must say, they were cool because they were square and I can't really describe their taste, just different than a regular marshmellow! Thanks Sis!!!!

My MIL made this hat and scarf for me for christmas.....lets just say the hat makes a great shower cap!

Have to include a dog somewhere right? This is how Texas looks everytime she goes out, she loves to dive right into the snow and eat it! She always has snow on her when she comes back in.

This is one that deserves it's own post, I got some unexpected 'good mail' and it came at the best time, I had three really really bad days and this came totally lifted my spirits, I have been doing good ever since! Hannah made me a 'needlebook' and I love it soooooo much! I haven't posted on it yet because I wanted to put my needles in it, then I said oh well let's do it, I went get my embroidery needles at least and of course there is only one! so at least one of my needles has a home right now, and hopefully this will help me not lose so many needles! Thanks so much Hannah you are so thoughtful and nice.

I am such a great wife! The sunday I posted about all the snow my husband of course was out shoveling a lot and his shirt got all wet, well he tie bled! I honestly thought the shirt was a goner but I love the laundry stuff I had and wanted to see if it could get this out (I don't know why I even had a little doubt I mean it gets grease, lipstick, baby stuff, anything out!) I sprayed and rubbed and rubbed and rubbed (think of the song 'pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked) it was disappearing! but boy it took a lot of rubbing! I had to take several breaks, what a workout! But hey, the shirt is saved!

I participated in a 'Love Swap' for valentine's day, I got mine today so fun! of course it was filled with lots of goodies but the most exciting for me where the cards! I see them all the time on blogs but have never had my own, now I have cards with an 'r' on them and the envelopes are so awesome!!!! Thanks Holly!

Let's talk about Texas again, if she needs some attention and you don't give it to her this is what she does...takes the cushions off the sofa...isn't that what kids do? This day was actually the second time she did it, thought I better get pictures this time. (UPDATE: I just looked in the living room and the cushions are off the sofa, looks like I need to stop blogging)...

I can't remember if I posted these but I made some 'gift tags' for our VT ladies, I embroidered one side with the to/from and names and then sewed it onto some christmas fabric...

This was also back in December I made some little booties for my friends baby for her blessing dress, it had a little pink in it so I put the pink ribbon...

Bad Blogger....

I've been a bad bad blogger, I slapped my wrist and sat in the corner for awhile. I don't know why I do so well and then not. I do have pictures to post I just plain get lazy! I just like to read (and comment hopefully) other blogs and not post on mine! As a tiny excuse my internet has been slower all week, how did I ever survive dial-up? I get frustrated and leave!

I promise to do a catch-up blog. Also weird is I have just started getting weird comments, just on my last post I had about three weird comments left, what is going on? So I hope you don't mind I put the word verification to hopefully help with that right now.

I want to help too....

Don't forget about me while you are trying to blog!

Heavenly Chicken.....

Okay I made this and took great pictures a couple weeks ago, well I forgot to take one when it was all done I just started eating it then put it away etc... so I made it again, took the final pics and here they are with the recipe....

Heavenly Chicken: seriously I eat this for lunch everyday five days a week.

1/2 cup Olive Oil (original recipe called for 1cup butter but I've never made it with butter and olive oil is better for you and it cuts the amount in half and I bet makes it taste better!)
1 Pkg. Italian Seasoning Dressing Mix
3-4 Chicken Breasts (depending on the size, I only use three big ones from Costco's frozen bag, I also cut them up so they cook a little faster etc...

I use a slow cooker bag (no clean-up afterwards) and put all three ingredients in there, I then marinated them overnight (also a great way to get a jump start the next day) cook on low for 4 hours or high for 6 (or until chicken is done and tender).

(after they have been cooking)

You then heat up 6oz. cream cheese in the microwave just until soft enough to mix, then mix in 1 can of cream of chicken soup, then pour in crock-pot and mix together, cook an additional 30mins.

During those 30mins. I throw together some rice.

All finished, just shred the chicken a little, doesn't it look yummy???? I'm addicted.

Snow, snow and more snow!!!!

We have early morning church (okay only 9am) and when we left there was at least 6 inches, at least we only live maybe a mile from the church (and it's downhill) so we made it to church with only minor slipping. While we were in church for only two hours it snowed another 4 inches or so, they canceled Sacrament meeting and told everyone to go home, that is easier said than done! we tried one way and couldn't make it up the hill so we went the other way and barely made it home (I was thinking maybe I should catch a ride from our neighbor who has an SUV!) although we couldn't make it up our driveway! I feel bad for the people that live at the top of the cul-de-sac because they have a car and I know it won't make it!!!!!!!!!

My husband of course loves the snow, loves shoveling the snow, he was out helping to keep the sidewalks around the church clear (it was very hard though, just a lot of snow!). These pictures were taken in the afternoon after it stopped snowing and warmed up a little, that's why the sidewalk looks so good.
